- Is Kotlin the right choice for our project?
- Shared code does not make platform behaviours identical. We assess the boundaries between reusable logic and native implementation. We begin with your users, existing systems, expected workload, and the people maintaining the result. We discuss alternatives and dependencies before committing to the scope, so the choice follows the product’s needs.
- Can you work with our existing Kotlin setup?
- We review the Kotlin and Android project structure, dependencies, build configuration, supported devices, lifecycle handling, and service connections. Changes are scoped around the affected journeys, with compatibility and store release work included where required. The review findings establish a practical scope, required access, and the checks needed before changing the live product.
- How can Kotlin connect to our other systems?
- We can discuss backend APIs, supported Android capabilities, and shared business logic where appropriate. The plan distinguishes what can be reused from native permissions, UI behaviour, and platform requirements that need their own implementation and tests. Third-party access, subscriptions, and unavailable interfaces are identified before development begins.
- How do you validate the Kotlin work before release?
- Checks cover the agreed Android versions and devices, network failures, lifecycle interruptions, permission outcomes, and critical screen states. Sharing code does not make Android and other platforms behave identically, so relevant platform journeys are checked independently. The agreed acceptance criteria and results are recorded so your team can see what was tested and which limitations remain.
- What will our team receive, and is ongoing support included?
- Receive the agreed screen states, navigation flows, device permissions, and backend contracts. The record explains what should happen when the Android app is interrupted or resumed. We document build configuration, dependencies, signing ownership, and the agreed store release process. If shared code is included, its platform boundaries and setup requirements are identified. The handover captures agreed device coverage, lifecycle tests, and known limitations. Future OS compatibility work, maintenance, and submission support are discussed as separate responsibilities. Deliverables and transfer conditions follow the project agreement. Training, monitoring, maintenance, and response arrangements are included only when agreed in the support scope.
